This class is an introduction to building and programming robots using the LEGO Mindstorms NXT Robotics System. Students will practice construction and programming with the NXT intelligent brick with servo style motors and ultrasonic sensor. In pairs, students build two different robots and program them with a computer to move, react, and make sounds in order to solve challenges. This class is good practice for kids or mentors interested in robotics competitions such as FIRST LEGO League. The minimum age is 8. Please bring a snack/lunch for a 45-minute lunch break.
LEGO Robotics NXT Workshop 2
This class introduces intermediate level topics in building and programming robots using the LEGO Mindstorms NXT Robotics System. Students with previous LEGO Mindstorms experience practice mechanical design, construction, programming and teamwork skills. In pairs, using LEGO parts, motors and sensors, students build one or two different robot models and use a computer to program their robots to move, react, and make sounds in order to solve challenges. This class is good preparation for kids or mentors interested in robotics competitions such as FIRST LEGO League. Minimum age 9. Previous LEGO Mindstorms experience or instructor approval is required for this workshop. Bring a snack/lunch for 45 minute lunch break.
LEGO Robotics FLL Workshop Working in pairs, using LEGO building elements, motors and sensors, students build a robot to solve challenges from a past FIRST LEGO League robotics competition. The minimum age is 9. Please bring a snack/lunch for a 45-minute lunch break. Previous LEGO Mindstorms experience is recommended for this workshop.
You can have a class with just building a simple model and programing it.
